A person whose planet Mars is situated in the ascendant (first), fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth house from the ascendant in his birth chart, ascendant/moon chart, etc., is called Manglik. Those with Manglik Kundli are advised to do Bhaat Puja before marriage.
